The design of the hotel aims to have the outside and the inside work together in perfect harmony

Almost no mention of Gir can go without the mention of its incredible national park. It is famous for being the only place in the world, outside of Africa, where lions can be seen in their natural habitat. The park is also home to 40 species of mammals and 425 species of birds. And right next to the habitat of the majestic Asiatic lions is The Postcard Gir Wildlife Sanctuary.

Nestled in a 16-acre mango orchard, the property’s design aesthetic and lighting aims to be congruent with the environment and the forest around it. In fact, not one tree was cut to make it! The outside and the inside work together in perfect harmony.

What to do: While here, you can go for a safari and spot lions, leopards, blue bulls, wild boars, jackals, or perhaps a few of the over 300 birds native to the region. Welcome to the jungle, indeed.

That’s not all – you can enjoy a walk around the neighbourhood and can make a picnic of it too! There’s also a nature trail you can take with a naturalist and authorised guide of the National Park.

What to eat: The kitchen at the hotel offers Gujarati, Kathiawadi, and Parsi culinary flavours. You can try the Parsi Thali or for the vegetarians the Gujarati Thali, to experience the tastes of the region.
