Browsing through Google Trends, I found that some of the most searched phrases and words in India last year included: “Indian Premier League”, “FIFA World Cup”, “swimming pool near me”, “movies near me”, along with “how to download your vaccine certificate’.
So, I wondered what these trends actually meant? Why these specific terms? It seemed to stem from a need for escapism centred around activity, indicating a return to a somewhat more “normal” life than the two years gone by. It seems, whilst everyone is still reaching out for their vaccine certs and masks, they are also making memories.
These search trends are a reminder that while you are striving and learning, you are also living.So, this is a reminder to me, more than anything - not to forget to live.
