Sylvia Legris’ Garden Physic is a treat for all new (and old) plant parents
Did you know that April is World Poetry Month? And while we are constantly looking for any excuse to find a good book to read, this event has come into our notice (and IG feeds) over the last month. But poetry that goes into more universal themes, like say our relationship with nature, have a special intrigue about them. And Sylvia Legris’ Garden Physic does just that.
But perhaps the best part of the book is that while it describes flowers, it doesn’t turn to the usual metaphors to talk about how dainty or sentimental they are. In fact, she says it best when she says, “In short, my garden is messy. I think that would describe it.”
So, if you’re a plant-parent (even if poorly so – no judgement) who wants to enjoy a good poem, or if you just want to celebrate World Poetry Month, you know where you can start.
