Good morning,

Here’s wishing you all a very happy Independence Day!

We bring you a special edition today for the national holiday. So, if you’re in the mood to celebrate while relaxing on your couch today, we’ve got you covered.

If Indian history is on your mind, here are some fun ways to learn more about it:

  1. Have some chai: Not that we need an excuse to have a warm cup of tea (especially during the monsoon), but you can use this day to learn more about the different kinds of chai from around the country here. You can also try a few!

  2. Visit a museum or a monument: Use today to explore your city with some curiosity by learning about its history. In fact, the ASI has made entry into some monuments free as well. You can read more about it here.

  3. Read The Room on the Roof by Ruskin Bond and The God Of Small Things by Arundhati Roy: Indian authors and books rooted in the Indian subcontinent come with a flavour that is distinctly unique. Spend today getting a taste of this flavour.

  4. Listen to The History of India Podcast: Historian Kit Patrick uncovers ancient India in his informative and conversational podcast. Once you start listening, you’ll probably be surprised by how little we know about ancient India. You can listen to it here.

See you on Wednesday!
