Let’s begin with a question: How far would you go to get a great view?
While some of us filter our Airbnb searches to stay as close to the ground as possible, others like themselves a bit of adventure. And this hotel in Peru is a dream-come-true for the latter.
The Natura Vive Skylodge is located amidst the Cusco region’s Sacred Valley. And while it provides all the amenities and gastronomy of one, this is not your average mountain lodge -- the rooms are around 1300-feet-high, and hanging mid-air, off the mountain’s edge. The only methods of reaching the hotel are hiking up the tricky mountain trail, or ziplining all the way!
These ‘rooms’ are actually glass pods clinging to the rock face, containing comfortable beds, modern toilets, and other facilities. Draw the curtains open, and you’ll find yourself with a breathtaking view of the valley, maybe even the Milky Way at Night. The hotel provides an unforgettable sky-high stay for its guests, coupled with "a unique experience that (reconnects guests) with nature," as highlighted by manager Natalia Rodriguez to CNN Travel. And there’s also a dining pod open to non-resident guests (you still have to climb up, yes), with the best of Peruvian cuisine. Talk about a meal with a view!
