Spruce up your Diwali party this year with a personalised charcuterie board

This weekend is set to be all about festivities – from sweets dipped in desi-ghee that melt in your mouth to delectable savouries, rounded wines, and card games. So, we thought why not add another board to the table – the charcuterie board

The French word charcuterie means cured meat. But the board often switches avatars in different countries, so you can always create it according to your own likes and preferences. While in France, cured meats, cheeses, pickles, and mustard dominate the spread, the Spanish mostly serve it with jamón, chorizo, and baguettes. In the Italian version, the salumi plays the protagonist, supported by pecorino, ricotta, and parmesan cheese. So go ahead, and let your imagination run wild.

One thing that can never go wrong with the charcuterie board are finger foods. It works especially well for a festival like Diwali, reigniting the joys of sharing food, as the board slips from the hands of one to the other.

Besides varieties of cheese, you can also add fruits, nuts, spreads, dips, or crackers or even come up with a desi version with chaps and kebabs. Whatever you end up creating, hit reply and let us know. We would love to know what you came up with.
