There are many reasons to fall in love with Kolkata. The city of joy is a cultural hub and about so much more than what meets the eye. And recently, Meghdut Roychowdhury and Pauline Laravoire celebrated the spirit of the city by bringing together art, technology, music, food, lifestyle, content creation, and much more.
From a ‘sustainable Fashion March’ to Kolkata Moving, an initiative that explores inclusive sustainable dialogues and solutions to urban development, The Make Calcutta Relevant Again festival brought to the fore important issues and conversations. There was also a flea market with over 40 brands to support local businesses.
But perhaps the most interesting part was the cultural celebration of Kolkata. “A session curated for lovers of traditional Bengali art and culture, a Chhau performance was held at the lawns where the performers donned traditional and colourful costumes, and staged short skits based on Bengali mythological tales,” writes Telegraph India.
The festival seems to have captured the very essence of Kolkata – its unending for joy and its strong cultural roots. And if that wouldn’t make for a perfect metaphor, what would?
